Mountain View has a great fans who cheer on the exceptional athletes who participate in the schools traditional sports like soccer, basketball, football, etc. . Many other athletes simply go by the wayside with little recognition because they compete in sports like lacrosse or diving. Some of these students are nationally recognized athletes, but many within their own school don’t even realize what sport they participate in. An incomplete list of some of these largely unrecognized athletes is as follows.
Sophomore, Mickey Strouss, participates in not only track and field but competes with the byu diving club.
Mountain View has a combined lacrosse team with Orem and Timpanogos, with boys and girls like Thomas Miles and Andrea Ruvalacabra participating on their respective teams.
Senior, Evan Santo, participates in triathlon and has received national attention for some of his performances. He recently placed in the top five in the elite development race at the clermont draft legal challenge.
Mountain View has many exceptional gymnasts some of whom are moving on to compete in college in the next year like future t-birds Megan and Maddy Mcbride and Kim Tessen who will be competing for Univ. of Utah.
Fui Kalaniuvalu and other MV students compete with rugby teams made up of students from all over the valley.
In addition to the individual sports Mountain View has a ping pong club and a ultimate frisbee team who frequently practice and compete.
