At Mountain View High School on Tuesday night, the Corner Canyon Chargers came to face off with the Mountain View Bruins. The Bruins came out victorious, winning 73-71 in overtime, off a Darrian Briggs jumper at the buzzer. The Bruins jumped out to an early lead, 25-18 at the end of the first quarter. Neither team was able to gain an advantage before the half with the score being 31-31. The Chargers put together a furious rally to end regulation tieing the game at 65. The Chargers led by four with 1:28 left in overtime. But the Bruins were not to be denied. An amazing comeback led by Bateman’s two steals and a clutch shot by Mcknight tied up the score at 71 apiece. This set the stage for a Briggs’ jumper that beat the horn. The Chargers were led by Ebeling who scored 19, and grabbed 6 rebounds. The Bruins were led by Briggs’ 18 along with McKnight’s double-double scoring 18 and grabbing 10 rebounds. The Bruins (6-7, 1-1) will head to Timpanogos (9-5, 2-1) Friday night.
