BYU women’s soccer team was able to claim bragging rights by having a record 5,620 people jammed into the South Field to watch their victory over the Utah Utes soccer team. BYU was able to get a good start to their fourth season with a 2-0 record. Byu’s women opened hard and scored their first goal within the fifteen minutes. The cougars scored at 14 minutes when Maddie Siddoway, a freshman, got the cougars on the scoreboard. The cougars Nadia Gomes, a sophomore ,scored again in the 22nd minute scoring a free kick from 20 yards out. The cougars were able to keep the Utah Utes scoreless during this tough rivalry game.
