I recently had the opportunity to talk with Ken Carlson, the Bruin’s baseball coach, about the season and some of his goals for this year.
“Our main goal is to make state,” Carlson said. “Anything other than that would be to play hard every game and to stay focused.
Anderson listed some of his key impact players as Connor Hatch, Timothy Crossett, Nate Bingham, Miles Yablonovsky, Sepa Limon and Riley Sinema.
“All of them are returning players and we expect big things from them and we hope for the best,” Carlson said.
In looking forward into the season, Carlson said the MVHS team faces a lot of challenges.
“We have the returning state champions, Timpanogos, as well as Corner Canyon, and Skyridge should be pretty good,” Carlson said. “The rest of us should be fighting for the third and fourth places.”
The Bruins are currently 4 - 1 going into the Sunshine Tournament this weekend in Saint George. They look hopeful going into the season with a pretty veteran team.
