Meet Savanah Peery, a cheerleader for Mountain View High School. She is 17 years old and has lived in Orem, Utah her whole life. Savanah loves to hang out with friends and cheer in her spare time. She has been cheering for 7 years. Her interest for cheer was sparked when she was in 7th grade, that was when she decided she wanted to get serious about cheering. “I always thought cheerleaders were so cool, and so I tried out and fell in love with it!” Her love for cheerleading has become so large that through her hard work she able to become one of the cheer captains. “Cheer takes a lot of commitment, you have to be at every every football game and assembly.” She also talked about the difficulty of performing after very little practice on a routine. Although many would agree that the team does great no matter what. “My family are some my biggest supporters! They are at every game that I cheer at!”. Aydelyn Peery, her younger sister, added “She’s always a positive and a hard worker. I think that is why people can look up to her because she doesn't give up and is a great leader to her cheer team” And like Savanah, young girls have learned to love cheer just as she did. “Savanah is a awesome coach. She knows exactly what she is doing and she always makes sure that she includes everyone.” Maia Vakaafi, little league cheerleader. Savanah is a great example to many and they all wish her luck as she continues to shine with cheer. “Thanks for cheering with us bruin crazies! I hope to continue seeing you all at the games!” - Savanah Peery.
