On Tuesday, September 30, Mountain View’s varsity volleyball team dominated the Timpanogos Timberwolves. The competition was very intense, with five games (which is quite rare), Timpanogos winning games two and three. Mountain View came back with a vengeance climbing back on top in the last two games. Bruins always bring their best game forward, but when they come head to head with one of their rivals, the adrenaline kicks in. Our team had great sportsmanship, and even when things weren’t looking too good, they were all still smiling and loving the game. Our team worked together in perfect harmony bringing about our victory. The Crazies were very crazy and showed great support for our fellow Bruins.

The Lady Bruins soccer team took on the Skyline Eagles in a match of Region foes.

Skyline got the match started by scoring a long strike from the right side taking an

early 1-0 lead.

Mountain View’s Gentry Oldham, answered back with a break away one on one

strike to even the contest at 1-1 going into half. Mountain View’s defense played

very strong in the first half and were ready to shut Skyline down moving into the

second.

Both teams had their opportunities in the second half but it was Skyline who

added to their score on a header off a corner going up 2-1.

It took only one minute for the Lady Bruins to answer back as Savannah Hansen

put a deflection in the back of the net and even the score 2-2.

The game couldn't be decided in regulation and went into overtime. Mountain

View tried to clear the ball from its defensive half and Skyline capitalized on the

mistake by scoring with only one minute left into overtime and giving the Eagles

the final 3-2 win.

The Bruins now have to win their final 2 games of the season to qualify for the

state tournament. The team has fought well this year and with senior leadership

and a good core of young players they will prove to make the girls soccer

successful for years to come.
