At Mountain View on Tuesday, the Bruins took on the Eagles of Skyline. The Bruins led by merely three at the end of the first quarter, but quickly increased the lead to eight points at the half. Powered behind McKnight’s 22 points and 14 rebounds the Bruins were able to push the lead up to 13 at the end of the third quarter, and ended up winning by seven. The Bruins shot 82% from the free throw line making 14/17 which proved key in a relatively close game. The Eagles shot 50% from the line going 4/8. The Eagles were led by Alex Meldrum with 30 points, six rebounds, and five assists. Kedrick Clayton chipped in 12 points with eight rebounds for the Bruins. By never relinquishing our lead, we won the game, 68-61.

At Mountain View High School on Tuesday night, the Corner Canyon Chargers came to face off with the Mountain View Bruins. The Bruins came out victorious, winning 73-71 in overtime, off a Darrian Briggs jumper at the buzzer. The Bruins jumped out to an early lead, 25-18 at the end of the first quarter. Neither team was able to gain an advantage before the half with the score being 31-31. The Chargers put together a furious rally to end regulation tieing the game at 65. The Chargers led by four with 1:28 left in overtime. But the Bruins were not to be denied. An amazing comeback led by Bateman’s two steals and a clutch shot by Mcknight tied up the score at 71 apiece. This set the stage for a Briggs’ jumper that beat the horn. The Chargers were led by Ebeling who scored 19, and grabbed 6 rebounds. The Bruins were led by Briggs’ 18 along with McKnight’s double-double scoring 18 and grabbing 10 rebounds. The Bruins (6-7, 1-1) will head to Timpanogos (9-5, 2-1) Friday night.

The Olympus Titans, coming in with a destructive record standing at 11-2, came to Orem, to face the mighty Mountain View Bruins, currently at a 5-7. The Titans had a massive second quarter as they outscored the Bruins 16-10, which is what aided them in becoming victorious. The Bruins did cut the lead within 4 in the fourth quarter, but Jake Lindsey was too much to handle for the home team Bruins. Miles Keller lead the Titans with 18 point, including three of Olympus’ 10 3-pointers. Mountain was lead by Brigham Bateman 19 points, including four three pointers and Roman McKnight added 17 points, 11 rebounds, along with three steals and three blocked shots. Olympus 68, Mountain View 59. The Bruins will face the Corner Canyon Chargers on Tuesday at Mountain View. Come support your school!
