I love Lagoon. Ever since I was a little kid my mom would save up and every two years she would buy my family season passes to Lagoon. I grew up finding my happy place on thrilling rides and watching the cute little shows they put on at Lagoon.
I especially love going during frightmares where the chainsaw guys would perform places and walk around the park scaring people. The chain saw dudes were more fun and cute than they were scary. Mainly because they’d be these creepy scary guys in masks, leather, grey jumpsuits holding chainsaws that would sometimes run around chasing people, but would also do shows and dances with cute music in the background to be silly. I’m not a fan of the haunted houses though. Even the ones that are rated 2 stars on the scary scale and meant for children I get all jumpy at. Haunted houses are not my thing.
I love the Rattlesnake Rapids. In the summer it gets really hot in Farmington and Rattlesnake is a really fun way to get cooled down. Cliff hanger will get you twice as wet, but be warned. Wet rides are good to do in the early part to the middle of the day. Not toward the end. I mean unless you want to be sopping wet right when the sun is going down.
Now for the fun stuff. My favorite rides at Lagoon are the Canable, The Rocket, The White Roller Coaster (which is now just brown because the paint has peeled off over the years and they’ve had to do a lot of replacing), Wicked, Sky Coaster and the Rock-Plane. If you really want to have a blast, those are the rides you hit first. The higher, bigger and scarier the ride looks the more of a blast you’ll have. Rock-Plane is not a roller coaster and not big, but once you learn how to get your cage spinning around in a complete 360 degree circle really fast, you’ll find the joys of this one as well. If you get nauseous easily, I wouldn’t recommend this ride for you unless you are just planning on rocking a little. Sky Coaster is what looks scary, but isn’t as scary riding as it is looking at. It’s pretty much just a giant swing and if going on a swing set isn’t scary for you, then Sky Coaster shouldn’t be either. It does cost extra to ride, so if you plan on going on that someday, bring extra money. I really want to ride the catapult someday. It costs extra to ride but it looks so thrilling. Just imagine how fun it would be to be catapulted into the air.
At night it’s so pretty at Lagoon. They turn on all their lights on the rides which look so cool. I especially love the lights on The White Roller Coaster. It’s really busy trying to get out of the parking lot but so worth it to stay until close.
So Seniors, when we have our Senior Lagoon day, get out of your comfort zone a little and try new things. The more you do the more fun you’ll have.
