February is a wonderful time of year if you are in love. But it also means a few other things to a lot of other people. For instance February is CTE month. That means a bunch of posters and flyers go out telling you to take a CTE class. That's great, honestly. But guess what other thing is celebrated this month.... thats right it is Black History Month. Now around the building there is a few, and we do mean a very few, posters about some of the recent African Americans who are doing something with their lives. Why are the CTE classes getting more attention than these few posters? Taking a CTE class is great and all, but these people are the people who have build this nation from the ground up. These people deserve and have earned their titles. We need to put aside our crappy love letters. We need to talk about how black lives matter. We need to address this, especially this month. Because apparently we ignore them all other eleven months that we had to dedicate a month for them. So set some time aside and educate yourself on one African American who made it so you can be here today. Other than Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King Jr. Let's show some respect and celebrate this month. Take down the CTE posters and put on your thinking caps. Put up some knowledge.
