Recently, almost every junior in highschool took the test that everyone says will determine their future. Juniors all over were biting nails and worrying over a test they had been told was there ticket to college. Everyone goes to college. That’s the way life has been set up and in many western countries it’s almost a taboo to not attend higher education. The ACT’s take about 4 hours and there are four test to take in that time. Although getting into a good college is important to be successful in life, there shouldn’t the amount of pressure there is on children who have only been for about 16 years. The anxiety and stress doesn’t end when the testing instructor picks up the test and students are free to go. Six to eight weeks of nervous waiting to see if scores live up to parents, teachers, colleges, etc expectations. High school students should not be focusing on whether or not some test says they’re good enough to go to the college desired. High Schoolers should be focused on living out the very last bit of their childhood.
