On the fourteenth, Mountain View High School held a Parent Teacher Conference in the lunchroom and Commons so that parents could see how their children were progressing.
Many people think of Parent Teacher Conference is boring and worthless. First off, what is Parent Teacher Conference? Esther Wilcox, student, answered this question as it being rather self-explanatory. Parents and teacher converse together. Not much else to it.
When questioned, Ms Jaclyn Hicken, English teacher, said that she really likes Parent Teacher Conference. “You see somebody who is fully invested . . . in their child.” She likes to meet the parents face to face. Although, she would like students and parents who really need to meet with the teachers to come more.
Susan Wakamatsu, parent, said, “I think [Parent Teacher Conference] is a very important part of the education experience for all parties involved. It allows the student, teacher, and parent to review the student's progress simultaneously. . . . It helps make sure [the parent, teacher, and student] are all on the same page together.
Parent Teacher Conference is a good thing for everyone involved. If more people went, then this school would do so much better academically.
