There is a book challenge happening in the library, and for every book students read from the list of books below, they will receive a small prize.
Once a student has read five of these books, they will have the opportunity to make it to a party at the end of the year. If students read at least 15 of the books, they will be in the running for the grand prize.
Believe it or not, this challenge has been here since the beginning of the year. This was set up by Miss Hopkins, the librarian.
The grand prize has not been decided. Miss Hopkins is spending her time making sure that “the prize is something that people will want.” The grand prize is said to be worth over $100
Miss Hopkins was “inspired by this idea called the Battle of the Books that middle schools do.” She has “provided a list of books which others can read to get out of their comfort zone” or into a different genre.
