-Wednesday, January 20th 6:30-8:30 pm, Mountain view hosts our annual Tri-school college and career readiness night. All students and parents are invited to attend. Representatives from BYU, U of U, UVU, and USU will be here. Additional break out session will include topics on scholarships, multicultural opportunities, Distance education, ACT, NCAA, MATC and CTE pathways. Plan now to attend this informational night. You are welcome to come and come as you please.
-If you are done with any textbooks such as government books, english books, or anything else please turn them in! Students may need them next semester and we know you don't want to carry them around anymore. Please bring them back!
-You've seen the library's buttons, now it's time to design your own. The library is holding a button design contest! Sign up between now and Jan. 22nd to enter your own original design. The grand prize winner gets a $20 gift card to amazon and 1st, 2nd and 3rd places get to have their buttons mass produced by the library. Stop by the library for more details.
-Hey guys, those of you who have been invited to clear creek next week, please turn in your permission forms by Friday and pay your $10 to the financial office. Thanks bruins.
-Hey bruins! The winter ACT class will be starting in 2 short weeks. If you are interested in taking this course, you can sign up in the financial office. The cost for the class is $150. The course will begin on January 23rd and meets every Saturday for 6 weeks. There will be a morning class that runs from 9:00 to noon, and if there is enough interest, we will have an afternoon class from 1:00 to 4:00. Come join us for some intense learning and improve your ACT score!
-All boys interested in playing tennis for Mountain View this spring, there will be a very important meeting right after school on Tuesday, January 19th in the media center with coach Martin and coach Mueller. Please plan on attending.
-Hip Hop club has a professional dancer, Loni Pala, scheduled to teach a class this Friday at 2:45. Tickets are $5 per person and $8 for two people. Come have a great time learning some sick moves. Refreshments will be served.
-Soccer- 5:30 am B-days in the gym.
-NHS is doing a shoe drive and donating any used shoes to children in Africa. So if you have any shoes you are willing to donate put them in the boxes throughout the school. New or used. You can contact Ms. Kelly for more information. -Come support your bruins take on the Orem tigers at the battle for the paddle at 5 pm on Tuesday January 12th. At half time coach Blevins and the MV swim coaches will be competing in a relay against the Orem swim coaches. Come support! Go bruins!
-Get tickets for the senior play "Greater Tuna". Tickets are $7 at the door and $5 pre-sale. The show runs from Wednesday to Saturday at 7:00 in the auditorium.
-Hey bruins! The multi-culture club will be hosting a Taco Fiesta on Wednesday January 20th in room 224. This activity is for club members only. Come ready to break pinatas, have some tacos, and play Mexican loteria. Arriba Arriba! Everyone has a culture! What's yours? Come audition for the multi-culture assembly by preparing a dance, song, or other talent related to a culture of your choice. Auditions will be held in the commons on Tuesday January 26th and Wednesday January 27th from 2:30-4:00.
-The Mr. Mountain View contestant follow-up meeting will be held on Tuesday January 19th right after school in Mr. Criman's room.
