On April 30th and May 1st, Orchesis and the ballroom team got a small break at the Best of 2015 dance department concert. While both teams still performed, they got to take a breather when the other dance company or, in this case, technique classes did their dance numbers. The audience also had the opportunity to see Sabrina Jex, sterling scholar for dance, take the stage.
Dance I, II, III, ballroom technique class and the hip hop club got to show off their moves, taking up six out of the twenty-two dances. Dance III performed twice, the first one, “Influence”--a dance portraying lifting your friends up, and the second, “Pressure”--a performance displaying the pressures of the outside world and those around us.
The hip hop club blew the audience away with their epic dance choreographed by Danny Bailey using the song “Move if You Wanna” by MiMS.
Dance concerts always amaze the turnout, but the crowd genuinely especially this performance. It’s always fun to see other students not recognized as much take the stage and wow the audience.
