Fight the Dimensional Monsters! Closers Online is a free-to-play high-speed action MMORPG released in South Korea, from emerging game publisher, Naddic Games. The game is currently only available in Korea (unless you have family or friends who live there who can authorize your Korean Nexon account) but a North American localization is on its merry way. Much of the translation is already written so expect some English news from Nadic very soon.
The game focuses on 5 characters that you can choose from , each with their own unique skills and attacks. Gamers play as newly recruited Closers agents, youths with special powers that allow them to fight dimensional beings from another world who want to take over the earth. Now 15 years after the last invasion, dimensionals have started appearing again and it is up to them to stop the Dimensionals from invading Seoul. The main character, Seha Lee, is a young man with the potential to become a strong Closers agent. His mother was a high-ranking agent who helped bring the First Dimensional War to an end, and now he has to live up to those expectations. During the game, he comes into conflict with many dangerous foes such as Kalbach Tux, a man who leads the dimensional forces against Gangnam, and Ash and Dust, two dimensionals who fought Seha’s Mother.
This game is tons of fun because of its high diversity when it comes to combat and game types. The zones are varied in design, some of the best being the city of Seoul, right after the dimensionals have started their invasion, and the Dragon Outpost, an area that lies in-between Earth and the dimensional realm.
With new stages and enemies constantly being added and a lot of replayability with its challenge and multiplayer modes, the game stays fresh and exciting.
Players can even interact with online peers and team up to overcome hard stages and participate in Emergency Raids, where gamers defend areas against waves of dimensionals. The PVP arena consists of a four player free-for-all or an eight player team battle. I myself participated in the Zone 4 Emergency Raid and the “NIGHTMARE” difficulty label isn't just for show.
The game also recently introduced the “circle system” where players can form a guild with friends to meet up in a hangar to trade items and equipment. Guild members even get a nice big guild seal that goes on their agent license along with a guild bonus and guild items that can assist in combat.
The game is a well-polished hack-and-slash that is constantly evolving with new content every week that provides a diverse balance of story and gameplay that fans of the genre are sure to enjoy. Check it out whenever it does come to the States.
